Choose the stalks you want, cut a few fall flowers while you're out there, and take home a porch full of fall. Corn stalks are $1 each, and every dollar goes to The Cody Crew 4H club.

How it works

Check in at the stand
Park where the signs point you and say hello. We'll send you to the rows that are ready.

Pick your stalks
Choose the tallest, fullest stalks you can find, and cut a few fall flowers while you're out there. We'll be on hand to help you cut and carry.

Pay by the stalk
Count them up at the stand before you go. $1 per stalk.

Load up and decorate
Stalks run tall, so fold the seats down and lay out a tarp or old blanket first.

Every stalk in the field was planted and cared for by the Cody Kids, the fifth generation on this farm, as their 4H project. Farmstead 1868 has been in our family since, well, 1868, and watching the kids see a crop through from seed to sale is one of our favorite parts of fall.
All corn stalk proceeds go to The Cody Crew 4H club, so your porch helps fund next year's projects. Thank you for supporting them.

- A tarp or old blanket to keep your interior clean
- Twine or bungee cords for tying bundles
- Boots or shoes that can handle a field
- Loppers or garden pruners, if you have them

Do I need a ticket or reservation?
No. Come anytime between 10 am and 3 pm on Friday, or noon and 4 pm on Saturday. Visiting is free, and you only pay for the stalks you take home.
Can I pick fall flowers too?
Yes. Fall flowers are ready to cut in the field alongside the stalks. Ask at the stand for pricing.
How do I enter the giveaway?
Sign up for our emails on this page by 4 pm on Saturday, September 26. If you're already a subscriber, you're already entered. We'll draw one winner on Monday, September 28.
Do you charge for parking?
No. Parking is free.
How tall are the stalks?
Most run roughly 6 to 8 feet, depending on the plant and the season. Pick a few extra if you want a full look.
Can I bring the kids?
Yes, families are welcome. Please keep little ones close while you're in the rows.
What if it rains?
We're open rain or shine. If the weather forces a change, we'll post it on Instagram and Facebook at @farmstead1868.
How long will they last on my porch?
Typically through Thanksgiving in Central New York. They dry from green to a warm gold over the first couple of weeks. Keeping the base off wet ground helps them last.
Where does the money go?
All corn stalk proceeds go to The Cody Crew 4H club.
Can't make it this weekend?
Order corn stalks online and we'll cut them for you. Pick them up at the farm when they're ready. Bundles of 5, 10, and 20 are available.
